About This Project

DXS Dscaff was appointed as a consultant to provide detail design of an Overhead Protection Structure for Lend Lease project Tun Razak Exchange Lifestyle Quarter. The construction of Lifestyle Quarter which shared the same boundary as the ongoing Signature Tower (1438ft tall) posed high risk of falling objects onto workers.   The proposed design is based on a progresses level jacking 2126m2 protection deck. The objective of this deck is to offer a level of protection to Lend Lease staff and subcontractors against potential falling objects from the adjacent Mulia construction site.

The protection deck is segmented into 6 sections each approximately 20m x 20m wide. Each section of deck consist of a 1.5m deep grid of DXS and will include full DXS decking. This deck in turn will be supported by 2 rows of DXS trusses running perpendicular to the main deck trusses.

To further enhance the capacity of the system, the complete area above the DXS decks will be fitted with specially fabricated air bags giving approximately 1.0m cushion above the decks. The complete area below the DXS deck will be supplied with 3 layers of nets, fall protection, debris and fine debris nets all compliant to EN standards.
